My mother died in 2000 either from cancer, or from the diluted cancer drugs given to her by Robert Courtney. You can't really be sure now. That's the worst part.

For more info about him, tonight at 9 PM, CNBC is showing an episode of American Greed covering the case.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] legstoner for drawing my attention to it.
This post is sure to get [livejournal.com profile] hjude44 up in arms

There are great songs out there, and then there are songs that would be great but have something wrong with them. These are songs other people think are great, but they're just wrong.

Two that come to mind for similar reasons are Derek & the Dominoes Layla and U2's Where the Streets Have No Name

Layla features two distinct, both individually strong, movements but the two together don't create the expected synergy. In the end, the "piano coda", just feels tacked on and lessens the overall impact. Meanwhile on Streets would be a more powerful song, were it not weakened by a synthesizer-chorale opening that goes on for a full minute before anything else comes in. Too much over the top production hurts its cause.

Sorry, I was in the van this afternoon and heard the opening chorale of Streets and turned away before it got to the opening because it just took too long.

I wonder how big Xandrapolis has to get before the planning committee will add a radio station.
