Let's talk about Infant Care class. The past two days have been somewhat educational. There was a bunch on the first night that was repeated from either the Hospital tour or the breastfeeding class. Last night was more about changing diapers (not as easy as it sounds), bathing (sponge and otherwise), and troubleshooting. I did learn a lot last night, but that's not what I want to talk about. I want to talk about the class taking the class.

There were about ten couples in the class. I'm pretty sure that thirty or forty years ago, besides the fact that there probably wouldn't have been a class on this, that it would have been entirely attended by the mothers and mothers-to-be, without the fathers being there.

The fathers last night were from all different races and income levels. It was a large sample of the diversity of the American population.

Most of them looked incredibly bored and began spacing out. This is what I don't get. Yes class is, almost by definition, incredibly boring. Yes, the football season started last night (though we got out in time to see all of the second quarter and beyond). But...

Don't you get it? You've won!
