Hmm.. I'm using my "developing" icon for this one and that might not be fair. Oh well...
Last night I took Matt to get a haircut and he took it really really well. It took him a long time to become accustomed to having his haircut but now he handles it very smoothly.
Perhaps a bit too smoothly. After we got home I told him it was time for shower and he didn't want to get one. Why?
Because he didn't want to ruin his haircut so he could show it to his teachers tomorrow.
I let him wear a shower cap and moved on with my life.
This morning while we were getting dressed he told me, "I look sad today because I miss Xandra."
I miss her too, Matt. I miss her too.

gone, might as well let him enjoy it while he's got it.
Being in touch with his feelings and being comfortable discussing
those with a parent outside of an emotional breakdown of some sort...
thats really good.
I suspect you and Ange are doing a wonderful job.
