It took me an hour to get home today....

jeffxandraBut that's what happens when it snows/sleets/freezing rains/rains in the area. Pretty much the worst was from the 395 on ramp to the beltway. Once I got outside of that it wasn't too bad. But there were definitely some nervous spots.
After I got home, I learned that Verizon's Weather Channel was out. Not the entire cable service mind you, just the Weather Channel. How does the Weather Channel go out of service I ask you? Anyway, I got a good nap and then broke out the snowthrower to clear the driveway. I would like to reiterate, best Christmas gift ever!.
After dinner I called my father-in-law to consult with him on our oven problem. He seems to think, and I agree, that the paizo igniter has up and died. Sigh. That'll mean a service call. Oh well.
The other Cable oddity was that the upstairs TV had a translucent gray box dead center of the screen while on. It only appeared whily we were watching regular TV. If you turned on the guide it would disappear, but switch back to full display and it'd pop-up again. So we called the service number in our guide and the answer machine reset our cable box and fixed the problem. I never talked to a real person. For some reason I find that disturbing.
After my wife crashed, she's still digging her way out of this nasty cold (as am I but I'm slightly ahead), I went and logged into CoH/V in hopes of working on my Mastermind. Unfortunately, I couldn't log into Virtue. So I created a Thugs/Poison Mastermind over on Pinnacle. This one's a former Yakuza enforcer who had a falling out with his bosses and went on the run with a bunch of narcotics and other substances. He's got the audacity to think he can form his own gang, but he's not actually that bright. So one, the personal attacks in the primary set actually make sense for him and two, he feels a lot different than my mad scientist on Virtue. I think he'll be fun to play.
Oh yeah, and I'm naming my thugs after Glorious Lords.
Anyways, don't forget to visit Xandrapolis today. Hopefully you won't see the kind of crime you find in the Rogue Isles.
