Tonight, at the library, was a special storytelling evening themed on superheroes. I completely forgot about it.
Thank goodness Matt was wearing his Spider-Man t-shirt
After the brief story, Superdog, which was okay but not great, they got to engage in different superhero activities
Jumping on a trampoline to replicate Superman leaping over tall buildings
Climbing through a tunnel like Batman to be sneaky
Jumping from hula hoop to hula hoop like Spider-Man does rooftop to roof top (roll with it)
Lifting a heavy (not really) weight while your parent shined a halogen flashlight with green plastic wrap over it on you as you look in a mirror. That one was my favorite. Matt went back a couple of times, so I thought it was his favorite too. Turns out it was
Throwing green bean bags at a monster (with a hole cut out) like Green Lantern shooting beams from his ring (hey it's a library thing, don't expect miracles).
And, because I think the library didn't have any better options, throwing a yellow hoop, with a rope attached over the ant attacking the eiffel tower a la Wonder Woman.
You could also make a super hero emblem (Bat symbol, Superman's S, Wonder Woman's tiara, or a Spider-Man chest logo) but Matt wasn't into that. There was too much to do.
