Welcome to Fantasy (Football) Island

God I hate Fantasy Football. It's like an addiction that I can't get rid of.
I'm trying to put my head through this one and I'm still not sure whether I got very lucky or I'm doomed
I slid into the 10 Spot (out of 12) on the snake draft and here's where I ended up
Round 1 (Pick 10): Staring at my draft sheet I'm stunned that Shaun Alexander is still on the board. Is there some injury I've missed? Is it just panic at his age or his workload from two years ago? I had him at least mid first round. Clearly others disagree with me but I have to pull the trigger.
Round 2 (15): I could take the first wide-out but I'm a big Travis Henry fan (he anchored my season a couple years ago) and he's still on the board. Once again, my own rating had him as a mid-to-late first round. Looking at the backs taken after him, I think I made the right choice, but who knows.
Round 3 (34):
kyriotate snakes Reggie Wayne just before I was about to pick him. Argh... I settle for Roy Williams and hope for the best
Round 4 (39): Staring at my QB list, I see a precipitous drop in my trust level beyond the one guy left near the top. I pull Donovan McNabb as the last of the early QB run (after Manning, Brady, Palmer, Brees, Bulger, Hasselbeck & Young(?))
Round 5 (58): I was hurt last year by having Manning, some good RBs and a bunch of shmoes at wideout. After
kyriotate takes Deuce McAllister immediately in front of me, I scream internally for him to get off my wave length and pull take a second wideout with Plaxico Burress and immediately regret it. God I hate him (Burress, not
kyriotate). Not that I feel better about the ones who came afterwards.
Round 6 (63): I go for a third RB, with the solid yet boring (and non TD scoring) Julius Jones whom I drafted in the third round last year. Guess I haven't learned yet.
Round 7 (82): I had hoped Mark Clayton would slide to me here for a third wideout, but it didn't happen. With the stellar TEs gone I ignore the position and decide to break the seal on defense. I grab the Baltimore D with a bit of hometown fandom instead of going for the Bears, even though I like that team too. It starts a mini-run so I can't complain.
Round 8 (87): With the starters (aside from Morency and the Titans RBs) gone, I gamble on Leon Washington who's backing up Thomas Jones in New York. I pay for it when Dave moves in and takes Mike Bell (Travis Henry's back-up) the next round. I had half a mind to pick Reggie Brown (whom
kyriotate takes immediately after I call Washington) but hesitated when I felt I'd be tied to Philadelphia too much.
Round 9 (106): Like I said, Bell is gone and I don't really like any of the Running Backs. I had hoped Bernard Berrian would get to me, but
rorqual takes him four spots in front of me. Hence... Joey Galloway. As a #3 in a redraft league, I could fare worse
Round 10 (111): QB is looking thin, so it's time to pick a back-up. For reasons I don't understand,
darkwingjhu chooses Brett Favre after me in Round 9. I feel a bit stunned for a moment(that anyone would pick Favre, not that I wanted him), and then go for Alex Smith, figuring he might warm up by the time McNabb goes down with an injury.
Round 11 (130): I might have gone for Troy Williamson here if he was left. But with him gone, I hope Marshawn Lynch (2nd rounder for
joshthestampede) still has to share some carries, nevermind his fragility and take the "A Train", Anthony Thomas.
Round 12 (135): Handcuff maneuver - Seattle back-up RB Maurice Morris
Round 13 (154): Feeling about as solid as I can at RB, I take another old man, Isaac Bruce, more out of nostalgia than anything else.
Round 14 (159): With three rounds to go, this is my one shot to snag a TE before the other team without one. I make my move and take LJ Smith. I could have had a better kicker, but I'll deal.
Round 15 (176): Need a kicker Jason Hanson isn't bad.
Round 16 (181): In a pick that makes little sense, but I do it anyway, it's Round 16, I take Demetrius Williams who's a Raven and that's pretty much it.
In the end, I think I did okay, though I don't have much in trade bait. That's a little disappointing, but it could be worse.
