Sam Jackson In "Last Dragon" Remake

Samuel L. Jackson will play the villain in Sony Pictures remake of the 1985 cult classic "The Last Dragon" says The Hollywood Reporter.

Berry Gordy's original centered on young martial arts student Leroy Green in his quest through the streets of New York to achieve the highest level of martial arts accomplishment, known as the Last Dragon.

Those who achieve the high ranking possess the Glow, making them the greatest fighter alive. Jackson will play Sho'nuff, the Shogun of Harlem, a role played in the original by the late Julius Carry.

Dallas Jackson is penning the screenplay as well as producing alongside John Davis and Kerry Gordy, while Wu-Tang Clan's RZA is co-producing.
Brisingr (Inheritance - Book 3) Brisingr by Christopher Paolini

My review

rating: 1 of 5 stars
A horrific, boring, dull mess of a book. The primary character spends 95% of the time cleaning up loose threads and the remainder setting up the inevitable sequel. Meanwhile the secondary lead is merely present to provide scene cuts from the primary narrative and challenge your disbelief suspenders.

While Christopher Paolini again challenges himself to go beyond what he wrote in Eldest he fails to rise to the occasion and delivers a disorganized, underedited, plodding mess.

Frankly I would not have picked this up in hardcover if my wife hadn't already bought it. Now that I've read it, I would probably wait for the library to get a copy.
