Sometimes it works
Jul. 24th, 2008 10:59 pmSo tonight was my second session of
metromancer's 4th Edition D&D game. It's still going well, in general. I'm still not sure whether I like the Warlord class or not. But it's an interesting experiment so far. I think he's a useful character, but again, I'm not really sure.
He hasn't been hit, to be honest attacked, yet. We'll see how it goes once that starts happening.
Anyway, my initial plan, now that I'm a mass transit commuter, to get there after work was to take the Light Rail up from my work to somewhere near his place. Unfortunately, it had broken down a couple stops south of my location. So I started hoofing it. I made it to the Mt. Royal location before a replacement train caught up with me. Not a bad stretch, to be honest. I should be able to walk stops while waiting on the train, the same way I do when I'm Southbound now. It's kind of nice really.
Part two of my plan was to hop off near Comics Kingdom and pick-up my long overdue stash of comics. Turns out the (checked in advance) mile long walk was really more of a mile long climb. It's all uphill. Yeesh. Then it's probably another mile to
metromancer's from there.
Fortunately,
elengul was kind enough to pick me up nearby and save me that bit of a hike. Well somewhat fortunately. Thankfully he'll be getting a new car tomorrow because his current one is a total disaster.
