Feb. 21st, 2007

It's Ash Wednesday, when christians really start revelling in the guilt they built a religion upon. My wife is Catholic, so of course she observes Lent. Being the supportive husband, and the fact she usually chooses something more about self improvement than unnecessary sacrifice, I usually chip in too.

This year her work began an initiative to try and improve the health of its employees. The thoery being that it would reduce their medical costs. Anyways, it set four easy goals for each employee to try and accomplish during each day. Here they are

1) Physical Exercise for at least 10 minutes
2) Mental Relaxation Exercise (something like that) for at least 10 minutes
3) Eat Four Different Fruits or Vegetables
4) Sleep 7 Hours a Night

Today is day one. While my wife and Matthew were out getting their ashes this morning, I went for a run.

Actually it would be insulting to the word, "run," to call it a run. It was barely a jog. My lungs are out of shape. I just don't have the breathing efficiency I used to have. In that cool morning air I just couldn't keep going for very long.

Oh well.. it's day one.
Try the Conservapedia: A conservative encyclopedia you can trust

As it says on the front page: Conservapedia is a much-needed alternative to Wikipedia, which is increasingly anti-Christian and anti-American. On Wikipedia, many of the dates are provided in the anti-Christian "C.E." instead of "A.D.", which Conservapedia uses. Christianity receives no credit for the great advances and discoveries it inspired, such as those of the Renaissance.

Oh, and on the page listing examples of bias on Wikipedia, we get items like Gossip is pervasive on Wikipedia. Many entries read like the National Enquirer. For example, Wikipedia's entry on Nina Totenberg states, "She married H. David Reines, a trauma physician, in 2000. On their honeymoon, he treated her for severe injuries after she was hit by a boat propeller while swimming." That sounds just like the National Enquirer, and reflects a bias towards gossip. Conservapedia avoids gossip and vulgarity, just as a true encyclopedia does.

Not to mention The Wikipedia entry for the Piltdown Man omits many key facts, such as how it was taught in schools for an entire generation and how the dating methodology used by evolutionists is fraudulent.

But don't worry, because Conservapedia will be totally objective and unbiased! For instance, on February 2, the "Today in History" item was as follows:

Did you know that faith is a uniquely Christian concept? Add to the explanation of what it means, and how it does not exist on other religions.
