Two items from my shopping trip
May. 10th, 2006 05:42 pmKeeping this friended till after Sunday
So I'm in the local chain bookstore doing a little shopping for my wife for Mother's Day. She's on travel today and tomorrow so I've got Matt in tow. It's good; he's generally well behaved in stores, if just a little curious.
( My brush with marketing genius )
On my way out I had a quick idea to duck into the Manga section to see if the latest edition of Fruits Basket was out for her (It's not). While I was trying to get into the aisle there was a young thirteen, maybe fourteen, year old boy who, thinking it would be the last place someone of my (apparently respectable) appearance would go, ducked out of the main aisle into that one. After I excused my way into the aisle he looked at me and sincerely, if somewhat dubiously, said.
You aren't looking for something in here for him (referring to Matthew), are you?
God, I look so mainstream these days.
