What do you do on Easter-eve?
Apr. 15th, 2006 10:59 pmBecause my wife's family is Catholic, yet there I was, watching Peter Jackson's King Kong with her, and her mom while her dad was singing at the Easter vigil.
I liked it, a lot. But I'm a movie buff. My wife and her mom, who both love monster movies, didn't. I think, ultimately, this movie was released at the right time, i.e. not in the summer. It's not a summer movie at all. It's not a popcorn movie. It's more introspective than that. It's more literate than that.
It's, probably, also more self-indulgent and movie-geekish than that. But then I'm a movie geek. Personally ****, others may not like it as much
