Put on your Mythbusters hat
Feb. 5th, 2006 03:30 amSo this weekend a good friend of ours had his 30th birthday party. Now he lives out in California, but his parents flew him back to Jersey to celebrate. Since we had the opportunity, I got sent, as the family representative, to the party.
Oh, the duties I undertake for friendship.
Now,
zesh had decided that, for Randy's birthday, he would conduct an experiment concerning vodka. Namely, that the difference between bad vodka and good vodka is merely the number of times you filter it. Hence the following ingredients
1) Bottle of very cheap vodka, bottled in Landsdowne, MD
2) Brita filter
3) Stupid/gullible friends
Did I mention that
zesh is Muslim and doesn't drink?
So anyways, three filterings later, after only the birthday boy and I were willing to try the unfiltered version, a few brave souls were willing to test the results.
Believe it or not, it makes a significant difference. I wouldn't call the filtered vodka drinkable neat, which is what we were doing, but it would make a reasonable mixer for screwdrivers and other drinks.
