Why I will never learn Japanese

darkwingjhu came down to visit this weekend. Along with him he brought the entire manga run of Fruits Basket, a fabulous shojo series.
Shojo is anime or manga targetted for young girls. So it's silly enough that I read it in the first place. Though this series is not your typical shojo.
But anyway, while I was in the shower this morning I happened to be turning the word shojo in my mind and the word "Shoju" came up. Shoju was the name of the Daimyo of the Scorpion Clan in Legend of the Five Rings. So imagining Bayushi Shojo as Magical Girl Daimyo just sent me into fits.

Aug. 30th, 2005 11:35 amThere's an old fallacy, or perhaps merely a belief of the inexperienced, that seeing your child walk is the greatest thing ever.
It is a total nightmare.
Matt's not stable yet, but he has moved to the point where walking is his first instinct. He no longer only walks when called or prompted. Now he goes from point to point or, sometimes, point to open space.
We went to Wal Mart (gah!) last night to try and find some cheap shoes for him. He, while we were digging through the various options set off walking out into the main aisle. Fortunately it wasn't too busy at the time.
Now talking.. finding out what's wrong when he's crying? That's something to look forward to.
