What does this mean....
Jul. 21st, 2005 08:02 amThere are times where I'm so impressed with how clever Matthew is and there are times where I'm convinced that he's going to take a long time to figure out some things, like how to walk. Then there are times where it's a little of both.
Take this morning, for instance. This morning, while I was making my lunch, Matthew had pulled himself up on a chair in the kitchen and was cruising along.
So far, so good.
Until he got to the next chair. Moving from one chair to the next is easy when they're close together. He can even make a step or two without any support at all. But moving onto the third chair would not be so easy. It was too far away from the chair he was at to reach to it without crawling.
This was not satisfactory to my son. But instead of crying, crawling, or trying to walk, he moved the chair so it was in a better position to make the switch to the next one.
An ingenious solution, to be sure. But will he ever walk, if he doesn't have to?
